ANCAT has developed an expertise in portable and in vehicle extinguishing requirements. This has enabled ANCAT to lead fire research for the FIA institute. This research is developing test protocols for uprated regulations for rallying and other forms of off road motorsport. This involves investigations into

• Simply solutions all competitors can employ
• The development of unique tests and rigs to duplicate rally car fires for fire extinguisher approvals.

ANCAT also undertakes projects with various fire extinguisher manufactures covering a range of fire safety issues. Alternative strategies to deal with electrical and oil fires are currently being developed.
